A bit about Tim:
Member of Durham Tri since c.2013 following chance meeting with Coach Helen Tones and subsequent crash course in moving through water (aka Swimming), a strange concept which still largely eludes me. I’m also a member of Elvet Striders running club.
Triathlon focus is training and competing. I also enjoy longer distance cycling and running events; and I assist the Head Coach with delivery of the extensive club training program where/when needed.
Prior to taking up triathlon my main exercise focus was indoor exercise classes plus trail running and obstacle course events. In addition to being L2 BTF Qualified Triathlon Coach I’m also an L2 Group Exercise Coach and an L3 Personal Fitness Instructor, and in these capacities (as well as in my Tri Club Coaching role) I particularly enjoy working with people who are new to exercise and or who get as much from it socially as they do physically.
I’ve never represented Great Britain at anything sport related – but I do enjoy flying the flag for Durham Tri at high profile longer distance triathlons – especially if there’s a beer, a party and some cheesy tunes on hand afterwards.
I’ve got two kids one of whom is a junior member. The other one isn’t interested unless it’s horse shaped.
